01 / Who we are
A Different Way of Thinking About Technology
Spectre is a technology company developing intelligent software around the way people and organizations actually work.
Our thinking begins with a simple observation.
An organization can have exceptional people, sophisticated systems and a clear sense of direction, yet still find itself constrained by the way those capabilities interact.
The finance system may work well.
The operational platform may be capable.
The reporting tools may be technically sophisticated.
And the people using them may understand their responsibilities perfectly.
But if those elements cannot communicate effectively, the organization is still left managing the spaces between them.
Information has to be transferred.
Context has to be explained.
Records have to be reconciled.
Decisions have to be communicated through a series of manual steps.
And someone has to remember how the whole thing fits together.
What interests us is not simply the existence of these gaps.
It is how frequently organizations have accepted them as an unavoidable part of doing business.
We don't believe they have to be.
We see an opportunity to build software that understands more than the task immediately in front of it.
Technology that recognizes how information relates to other information, how one process influences another and how different parts of an organization depend on one another to function.
This is where Spectre begins.
With the belief that technology can be designed around the organization as a connected whole, while remaining practical enough to address the challenges people are experiencing today.
We are building towards a future in which software adapts to the organization it serves, rather than expecting the organization to continually adapt around the limitations of its software.
